Le Moléson

No wonder Freiburg citizens sing songs of the Moléson as the mountain that stole their hearts – already the journey to this scenic summit is a treat. The viewing platform on the roof of the mountain station and the giant telescope on the summit offer new perspectives.

The people of Fribourg celebrate their beloved mountain in a song: “A Moléson”. La Gruyère is known not only for the quaint town with castle and world-renowned cheese, instead also for the summit seem from afar – namely the scenic Moléson.

Two modern cableways with panorama windows connect Moléson-sur-Gruyères with the pre-Alp summit, from where one can climb on the roof of the mountain station to get a better view.Enjoy a clear sight across the Fribourg Alps and parts of the Valais Alps to Mont Blanc and over the Fribourg and Vaud Plateaus to Lake Geneva and the Jura.

And the summer toboggan run, downhill karts, grass scooters, two via ferrata routes, Alpine cheese-making and dairy hike, summit observatory or ridge hike over the Teysachaux to Les Paccots are even more reasons to visit the Moléson and environs.
